Growing up in a home where our dogs were more family than pet, I learned early on everything it takes to ensure that from the moment you pick out one of our puppies, you can be confident that you’re taking home a happy and healthy new member of the family.
When I was 19, I fell in love with a golden retriever puppy who later developed hip dysplasia. After enduring multiple surgeries, she passed away shortly after her second birthday. The heartache I felt at this point was hard enough as it was, and the bills that crept up shortly after only made the process that much more difficult. I would have done anything to help her get through it all, and now I’m doing what I can to make sure nobody else has to go through that same experience.
Following years of research and preparation, I had my first litter back in 1991. Since then, I’ve dedicated my time to improving the blood line and have successfully removed hip dysplasia and other all-too-common diseases – all while ensuring that all of our pups are raised by my family to better prepare them to become a part of yours!
What does it mean to be family bred?
No kennels, our dogs live in our house with our family.
Personally handled starting from the day they are born.
Raised alongside our own family and friends - from the cats that think they run the show to the birds that that love to throw shows of their own.
“Family raised and family owned, the perfect addition for your family home!”
This is what makes Fireside Goldens the perfect choice for you.
After 3 generations of Golden Retrievers with no hip displasia or cancer, I started learning that the cancer rate in Goldens was rapidly growing so I looked into ways to ensure it would not get into my bloodline, That’s when I learned about the English Cream Golden Retriever. Originating in Europe by UKC standards, they are very much like our American Goldens with few differences. Mainly, their risk of cancer if far less. So in 2010, I got Misty, my first English Cream Golden Retriever, and bred her with Tucker, a male I hand picked from one of my litters. And so came the start of my English Cream bloodline, now in its 4th generation!.
Rainy had a litter of 6 puppies, 4 males and 2 females!
Ruby had her first litter of 10 puppies, 6 males and 4 females!

Frequently asked questions:
How long do you keep the puppies?
-about 9 weeks. Puppies that stay together this long are easier to train and are more social.
How many shots do puppies need?
-3 series until about 16 weeks of age when they get their rabies vaccine, then annually
When should I spay or neuter my puppy?
-most vets prefer to spay or neuter before maturity, around 6 mos., but discuss this with your veterinarian
What’s the better sex, male or female?
-There is no right answer, both are perfect. Males are slightly larger, 65-75-lbs. with more coat, Females are 55-71 lbs. and their coat is not as dense. If you have no reference, let the puppy pick you!
I already have a dog or cat, is that O.K.?
-Our puppies are used to other dogs, cats and animals. It’s up to you to decide if your resident dog or cat will accept a puppy. We will certainly teach you how to make the introductions!
Is micro chipping important?
-YES! It is a means of permanently identifying your puppy. We chip all our puppies before they go home, this is a free service. You are responsible to register the chip when you register your puppy with the AKC.
